FreeMove expands its footprint with TeliaSonera

TeliaSonera, with operations in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Lithuania, delivers complementary geographical strength to the alliance as well as leadership in the business market. Collectively, FreeMove alliance members now span 26 markets and reach more than 230 million customers across Europe.

The partnership with TeliaSonera will contribute to FreeMove’s ambition to deliver an outstanding experience to customers when traveling abroad, through the realisation of a ‘virtual home environment’, delivering its customers with seamless and reliable access to familiar services such as voice mail, customer service and direct-dial.

In addition, FreeMove remains committed to delivering a competitive service to its growing portfolio of multi-national customers (MNC’s). With the inclusion of TeliaSonera, the only operator with complete mobile coverage of the Nordic region, the alliance is in a superb position to meet the needs of the MNC market.

 Since the launch of FreeMove in 2004 it has become a major player in the provision of mobile services to multi-national companies, doubling its bids and winning over 180,000 new SIM cards in 2005. Recent service advancements from FreeMove for MNC’s have included:

  • a special FreeMove for BlackBerry™ offer which enables MNCs to order BlackBerry™ services across multiple countries covered by the alliance at a standard price, giving these customers greater predictability and control of costs.
  • Consolidated reporting – a key benefit of the alliance is to provide MNC customers with consolidated information to help them understand their European mobile usage. FreeMove will shortly be making customers’ reports available for download from a secure part of the FreeMove website
  • Global account management – FreeMove offers a central point of contact for sales and bid management helping to streamline procurement and management of mobile services

FreeMove intends to build on its successes throughout 2006 with a number of significant service developments for the MNC market.
