FreeMove, the mobile telecommunications alliance between Deutsche Telekom Group, France Telecom Orange, TeliaSonera and Telecom Italia, today announces that Veolia Transdev and Veolia Environnement (Veolia) has chosen to partner with the alliance to provide mobile services across their Benelux operations.
As the world leader in environmental services (waste, water, energy and transport) with operations on every continent and over 300,000 employees, Veolia needed a company that could deliver seamless, cross boarder voice and data communications across their portfolio of offerings. In June 2012 Veolia signed a three year agreement with FreeMove to provide unified mobile communications throughout the Benelux region forcompanies including Connexxion, Dalkia, Veolia Transport NL, Veolia Transport BE, Aquiris, Biothane, Rossmark, Sodraep, Sede, Veolia Water NL, Veolia Water BE.
The agreement means that FreeMove will provide Veolia with high quality voice and data communications and sophisticated M2M data transfer services. The connectivity will enable seamless data migration between networks in order to empower critical business services such as payment systems, public transport networks (for example: buses, rail and ambulance services) and the monitoring of air, water and heat quality. The agreement will also include central governance to handle day-to-day operations, as well as the harmonisation of mobiles and pricing across the Benelux countries with simplicity, efficiency and transparency.
Michel van Maanen, Director Supply Chain and Business Improvement at Veolia, commented: “As a global enterprise, Veolia were in need of an internationally integrated telecommunications provider that we could partner with over the next three years to deliver exceptional service and remain at the forefront of technological innovations within the industries in which we operate. We also wanted a provider that could offer a uniquely dedicated account management service and found that Freemove was able to meet both of these needs, proving itself as the ideal match for our operations within the Benelux region.”
“If successful, this is a relationship we hope to develop into a longer term partnership across our wider operations to enable us to maintain our position as a leading innovator within the global transport and environmental industry”
Fabien Gustafsson, General Manager at FreeMove, commented: “FreeMove is delighted to announce Veolia as a new customer. With mobile voice, data and M2M capabilities that already support multinational corporations across the globe, we are thrilled to extend our wealth of offerings to provide Veolia with greater efficiency, productivity and control, as well as seamless mobile communications to match their own global footprint. We would like to thank the FreeMove Sales team for their efforts.”
