The Group is currently constructing Ireland’s largest fibre broadband network that will reach 1.9 million homes and businesses in the next five years. Launched in May 2013, the network now reaches 1.2 million homes and businesses and is the cornerstone of eir’s €2.5 billion strategic investment programme.
eir’s mobile division operates under the Meteor and eirMobile brands. In 2013, the Group was the first operator to launch 4G services in Ireland. It has spent more than €300m on improved 3G mobile services and high-speed 4G mobile broadband for customers.
NOS Comunicações, S.A., previously known as Optimus, is the biggest communication and entertainment group in Portugal and is part of the FreeMove ecosystem since a long time as Optimus was partly owned by the Orange group. The company totals over 3.3 million customers in Mobile, 1.5 in TV and Phone and nearly 1 million Wireless Internet customers.
NOS has a strong market share in 3P, 4P and 5P subscribers, and is leading in terms of revenues. Its presence is growing in both B2C and B2B with a single brand for all services and all segments.
NOS features a unique set of assets, with the largest NGN coverage (over 29.000 km in cable and 520.000 km in optical fiber) and the best mobile network (90% of the population covered with 4G). The company has a proven track record for innovation, with multiple successful product launches and customer awards.
Sunrise Communications Group AG has joined FreeMove in January 2017. Sunrise is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange in Zurich and is the leading fully-integrated challenger delivering a full range of services across all market segments. Sunrise is the leading non-incumbent operator in both the mobile (prepaid and postpaid) and landline retail voice markets, as well as the third-largest landline internet provider with IPTV, with approximately 3.3 million customer relationships, as of December 31, 2016. Sunrise is committed to deliver a best-in-class convergent experience.
OTE Group is the largest telecommunications provider in the Greek market, and, together with its subsidiaries, forms one of the leading telecom groups in South-eastern Europe. OTE Group offers the full range of telecommunications services: from fixed-line and mobile telephony, broadband services, to pay television and ICT solutions.
Aiming to boost its global footprint as well as its presence in the South East of Europe, FreeMove signed a strategic partnership with the group in August 2011. Today, the company is No1 in Greece in terms of the population coverage achieved by its 4G network (exceeding 85%) and 4G+ (exceeding 64%).
The OTE Group mobile telecommunications subsidiary, COSMOTE, is also present in mobile telephony in Romania through Telekom Romania (86.2%) and Albania through Telekom Albania (97.2%).
Aiming at continuously optimizing customer experience, OTE Group proceeded at the end of 2015 with establishing COSMOTE as the unified brand for all Group products in fixed-line and mobile telephony as well as internet services. The new brand logo gives prominence to the presence of OTE as a guarantor.
FreeMove signed a partnership with leading Russian operator MegaFon in February 2011, thus strengthening the alliance’s multinational offering by expanding its footprint to include the Russian market. Under the agreement, MegaFon will offer FreeMove’s advanced enterprise mobility solutions to its increasingly multinational client base.
With a subscriber base of 57 million, MegaFon is the second largest operator in Russia’s growing telecoms market, both in terms of subscriber numbers and revenue share, and is the clear market leader in the emerging mobile internet space, claiming 35,6% of total data revenue.
A key strategic partnership with T-Mobile USA was announced in November 10, 2010. The agreement will allow to better support multinational corporations operating on both sides of the Atlantic. T-Mobile USA plans to offer the FreeMove Alliance’s advanced solutions to multinational clients, especially those requiring communications both in the United States and Europe.
T-Mobile USA, Inc. is the U.S. wireless operation of Deutsche Telekom AG. By the end of the second quarter of 2010, more than 130 million mobile customers were served by the mobile communication segments of the Deutsche Telekom group — 33.6 million by T-Mobile USA — all via a common technology platform based on GSM and UMTS, the world’s most widely used digital wireless standards.
The partnership between FreeMove and Turkcell was announced in October 2010. This move will further add to the alliance's offering to the multinational market by strengthening its foothold in Turkey, one of Europe's key business markets.
With 62 million subscribers across eight countries, 33.5 of which in Turkey alone, Turkcell is not only the leading operator in Turkey, but also the third biggest GSM operator in Europe in terms of subscribers, supporting a growing number of multinational clients in telecommunication management.
FreeMove has been co-operating with the Bridge Alliance since 2007.
