FreeMove ensures energetic future for Danfoss through global mobility

Danfoss engineers the technologies that enable the world of tomorrow to do more with less. Danfoss meets the growing need for infrastructure, food supply, energy efficiency, and climate-friendly solutions.

Danfoss was founded in 1933 by Mads Clausen in Nordborg, Denmark, where the headquarters is still located. Danfoss has grown from a solo enterprise into a world-leader, employing almost 28,000 people and serving customers in more than 100 countries.

With operations around the world and a portfolio of smart energy solutions enjoying accelerated growth, Danfoss was looking to rationalise its mobile fleet. It wanted to shift to a central procurement approach in order to simplify negotiations through one agreement, reduce the complexity of managing multiple suppliers and make significant cost savings.

As the world’s top mobile telecommunications organisation, FreeMove synchronises the know-how and capabilities of its members including Orange, Telecom Italia, Deutsche Telekom, and Telia Company. This agreement will enable a strong level of service in key markets identified by Danfoss including its home operating market Denmark, along with Finland, the USA, and Russia.

“Right from the start, we were impressed by FreeMove’s level of engagement,” said Patrick O’Brien. “The fact that actions speak louder than words is an inherent part of our DNA and we really appreciated the commitment of the FreeMove teams and can-do attitude of our point of contact. Everyone went above and beyond to answer questions and address all of the finer details. It’s always easy to do business with FreeMove.”

An International Master Agreement was set up to enable a number of terms to be harmonised across the Danfoss Group, helping to simplify and standardise the legal framework and contract management. Dedicated implementation support ensured a smooth migration of all mobile fleets with no disruption to service or productivity.

Thanks to its experience and high-performing networks, FreeMove has also successfully organised the central delivery of vital data in order to feed the Danfoss Telecom Expense Management solution, a key priority. By building a relationship that can heat up (efficiently) over the long term, FreeMove also ensures that Danfoss maintains transparency and control over their mobile communication costs.

“For Danfoss, as for all our customers, mobility is no longer a commodity,” said Lazaro Fernandez, FreeMove General Manager. “It is a vector that drives international business growth. It is therefore crucial that it is procured and managed in the right way. Our goal is to align to our customers’ strategy and deliver the best local solutions while simplifying their management at a global level.
